Together with colleagues from Strategic Transformation and Planning, Organisational Strategy and Engagement and Finance and Analytics we can offer clients an end-to-end solution, from the design and consultation phases, delivery of change and through to post implementation review.
We can offer full lifecycle programme management. Our approach offers a strong focus on benefits management to ensure that your programme will deliver the expected benefits to your patients, communities and stakeholders. We provide expert support in the planning and delivery of complex large-scale change, workstream design and mobilisation, Executive level facilitation and a strategic approach to project support.
We can also provide a Programme Management Office (PMO) function to support programme planning, reporting and control that provides coordinated oversight, assurance and support for your existing projects.
We have a strong track record of delivering projects within time, cost and quality constraints and can offer full project lifecycle support. This support includes scoping and requirements definition, Project Initiation Documentation (PID) writing and planning, risk and issue management, performance monitoring and reporting, quality management and assurance, and impact evaluation.
We are experts in project management and use accredited and recognised project methodologies (e.g. PRINCE2 ®) to underpin our approach.
Navigation of Decision-Making Processes
We combine our skills and experience with an in-depth knowledge of NHS governance and assurance processes. Key areas in which we can provide support include the design and delivery of service change proposals, delivery of NHS governance and assurance processes and options appraisal of different delivery models as a decision-making tool.
Programme Assurance and Planning
Our collaborative approach with clients not only ensures that programmes are delivered on time and in scope, but also that the methodology and processes are embedded and sustained across the organisation.
From the outset of an engagement we can offer you a comprehensive readiness assessment of your transformation portfolios and a rapid review of programme processes and design. Key components include external Gateway Review and other external assurance, programme workstream review and programme workstream mobilisation. We will ensure that risk management is embedded in these processes and programme milestones and assurance assessments are passed.
Governance Review, Architecture Design and Implementation
We deliver robust programme and project management and can provide you with clear processes, sound governance structures and rigorous reporting. We can help you to develop the strategic framework to clarify and coordinate decisions and activities across whole systems and ultimately embed good governance structures. We can also provide governance group development programmes and liaison with legal partners in the design of governance structures and delivery of regulatory requirements.
Business Case Development
We can provide you with end-to-end authorship and management of Business Case development including Pre-Consultation Business Cases (PCBC), decision making business cases (DMBC), Strategic Outline Cases, Outline Business Cases, Greenbook compliant Full Business Cases (FBC) and core business cases. As part of this service our experienced colleagues in the Finance & Analytics Team can utilise the Department of Health and Social Care’s CIA economic model tool to evaluate Value for Money and inform the economic elements of business cases.
Implementation and Delivery of Change
The implementation phase is where the visions and plans for programmes and projects become a reality. The phase is often complex and requires the coordination of a wide range of activities. To ensure that implementation and service change is achieved successfully our offer focuses on delivery of the vision, benefits realisation, a robust assurance framework, the assessment of ‘readiness’ for go live and comprehensive monitoring and reporting. We can also provide an extended offer to implement ‘quick wins’ ahead of full implementation of overarching programmes.
Building Capability and Capacity
We work with leaders at all stages in their career to develop their capacity to influence change within their organisation, increase their confidence and resilience as leaders and to balance the complex range of responsibilities demanded of them. In partnership with the Organisational Strategy and Engagement team we offer coaching and leadership development for programme and operational teams and can support building internal capability and development through structured competency training and support throughout the programme cycle.

We place stakeholder engagement and management at the heart of our work. Our approach is inclusive and collaborative and, with colleagues from the Organisational Strategy and Engagement team, we can offer you a range of services including:
